Parents Requesting Baby/Child Dedication

Pregnant

KFM will dedicate babies to the Lord, according to Matthew 19:14: “But Jesus said, Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children” (New Living Translation). The Member Care Coordinator (MCC) will meet with the parent(s) to assist in coordinating the time, date, and location of the ceremony. Requests for Baby Dedications must be received at least one month in advance of the desired date. Dedications are generally performed during Sunday morning Worship Service unless otherwise requested.

Widows & Widowers

Enjoying the View

To ensure that KFM consistently provides compassionate care and support for our members who have experienced the loss of a spouse, our Member Care Team regularly communicates with our members by phone, email, and in person (also known as “well-being checks”) to determine how best we can express the love of God and provide support in tangible ways. It is vitally important that widows and widowers stay involved with life, and the KFM Family is committed to helping them do so.

Bereavement

KFM assists members (and their families) during this transitional period by extending prayers, compassion, love, support, and tangible aid following the departure of a loved one (i.e., spouse, child, sibling, or parent). The Member Care Coordinator (MCC) will communicate with the bereaved family to determine the family's needs (i.e., food, flowers, financial etc.) and provide information to the Executive Pastor for response/approval.

Additionally, the MCC will help to facilitate the on-site (i.e., at KFM or other designated location) Funeral Service and repast in coordination with the KFM Ministerial Staff and Hospitality Ministry. Services may be officiated by the Senior Pastor, Associate Pastor or another ordained ministerial designee, as assigned or requested by the family and based upon availability. (For off-site home-going services and/or Grave-side services, an officiating minister may be requested/selected, based on their availability and with the acknowledgement of the Senior Pastor.)

A “WatchCare” member designation allows believers from other congregations to connect with KFM without requiring full membership. WatchCare members are welcome to participate in worship, discipleship, fellowship, and service while retaining their membership with their home church or while in transition between churches. WatchCare membership is designed to provide temporary, conditional spiritual covering through KFM and its ministerial leadership.

WatchCare membership is appropriate for college students, military personnel, and families, and those with temporary employment assignments. WatchCare members are received and acknowledged publicly and expected to adhere to ALL KFM policies, procedures, and church doctrine, as if they were a full member.

KFM takes great care to ensure that a viable support system is available for its members who are 67 and older. We maintain a list of volunteer “care helpers” to serve our seniors and work alongside family caregivers when possible. Our care helpers conduct “well-being” checks by phone or in person when possible, assist seniors with daily living activities (when practical) make homebound/nursing home visits and ensure that KFM’s senior population receives all ministry information and services in a useful form and format.  The Member Care team coordinates with the Hospitality Ministry to ensure that seniors are provided with any form of reasonable accommodations needed during Worship Services and all other services/activities, to the greatest extent possible.
